Mortar and Pestle Intaglio

 

Here's my copper plate submerged in a tank of ferric chloride. This acid bath etches for lines. 

First I created a line etch.

 Then I sanded back a portion of the plate and added dry point.

 

After that I scraped and burnished back areas and aquatinted the image back in.
