print on linen


I had a very productive evening in the bedroom studio! I pulled some proofs on linen with a linoleum block I've been carving this week. It's nice to finally see some prints after weeks of planning and organization. For too long I've compartmentalized my loves for both printmaking and textiles. I could definitely get used to this awesome schedule.

Workspace Wednesday


Lately I've been having a lot of fun with pattern design. I've been looking at herbals, old Western photographs and Aztec patterns for inspiration. Since I set up what will from now on be referred to as the bedroom studio, I barely want to leave the desk!

making a mess


So I made the mistake of buying horrible, super discounted, water damaged linoleum. Really, it was so cheap. I just couldn't say no. Unfortunately it is harder to carve than a gnarly, petrified log. Lesson learned. On the upside, I finally figured out how to use my dremel tool! Guess I'll have to vacuum tomorrow...
