Here's a shot of my newest woodcut series hanging in the New Wagner Gallery at SIUE as part of the BFA exhibition "On Display". These will be up until the 17, so go check them out! These prints have been an ongoing project throughout the semester and I'm really excited to have finally finished the series. Each print is a simple one-run woodblock. All but one are wiped intaglio style. I wanted to take advantage of the beautiful grain on the Shina plywood, the multiple colors you can achieve in one run through the intaglio wiping process, and still be able to carve a block.
Tonight was the BFA exhibition and there was a pretty good turnout! (There were also excellent cupcakes...and did I mention that my hair looked really good?) The show is full of awesome work from awesome people. Shout out to all my buddies who came to say hi and hear me and other folks talk about their pieces. You're the best!
