saturday morning tea

I've been wanting to try blooming tea for quite some time now. I was visiting this shop that a friend told me about called Gourmet Chef in Edwardsville. They sold individual tea balls for 2.95 and I simply could not pass up a deal like that! Each tea ball is hand sewn and comprised of silver needle tea and a flower. Once you pour the first round of water over the ball, when it has fully bloomed it is ready to drink. You can make 80 ounces of tea from one blossom. You just keep pouring hot water over it and with each pot the flavor intensifies and the aroma decreases. I now have a whole pitcher of yummy tea for the week chilling.

In full bloom!
