friday plantling fun

Catnip in the making! Hopefully plants will sprout into a new little cat toy business we have plans for and make lots of kitties smile. I can't wait for the little catnip balls up top to be transplanted; but they sure do look adorable right now. These are both in Brandon's front yard, thankfully there haven't been as many nighttime visitors as there was last year...

Today we visited a plant sale at Southwestern Illinois College. There were several greenhouses set up along with a lot of tables outside (a whole table of tiny cacti!), and a very enthusiastic shuttle driver. They had a variety of flowering plants, vegetables and herbs, all at super affordable prices.

Herbs! We spent a good ten minutes smelling them all before settling on Spanish Thyme.

Yes, that is an ornamental, but still wonderfully spicy smelling, curry plant. Why it didn't end up in our box lid of purchases I do not know.

Spoils! (Clockwise from bottom left) Green Bell Peppers, Broccoli, Spanish Thyme, and the cutest plant I've ever seen in my life that I cannot for the life of me remember the name of.

Small succulent pot of adorable: $0.75.This is going to be my new baby.
