Out and About

Unfortunately, I am going to be out of town when this exhibition opens, BUT I KNOW IT IS GOING TO BE AWESOME! Look for my prints and perhaps some handmade crochet goodies!

There is also a student exhibition going on right now in the Morris University Center at SIUE (the gallery on the second floor). The show runs through April 1 and during that time viewers have a chance to vote on their favorite piece. A "People's Choice Award" of $1,000 will be awarded to the winner in the form of SIUE purchasing the work to display in the new Student Success Center. A print of mine, pictured below, is hanging in the show. I want to take this chance to HIGHLY ENCOURAGE all SIUE students to go and look at the show and cast your vote (and if you feel so inclined...). Regardless of who you vote for, your vote means a lot to the artists participating in the show and will be much appreciated. Ballots are located in the gallery entrance way.

The Annual Art Auction: Wagner Revisited hosted by Friends of Art is also coming up! The Auction takes place on Thursday April 8. The preview is a 6pm and the actual auction starts at 7pm. Admission is $5 but students, donors and FOA members get in for free. It is located in the Leclaire Room, Jay Hoffman Building
N.O. Nelson Campus for Lewis and Clark Community College in Edwardsville, IL (formerly called the Wagner Complex). Please follow the link above more more information about the auction and directions.

I have donated a couple prints and am really looking forward to attending this event. It will be my first year participating and I've heard that it is a lot of fun! Friends of Art is a non for profit organization and all of the proceeds of their annual auction go directly back into a fund that supports the SIUE visiting artist program and student travel. Come out and mingle!
