camp

Another week has flown by at art camp. Seriously, wasn't yesterday Monday?  This session was a little more relaxed with the older age group. The attention span to create some truly beautiful works was definitely there this time. The week started with some tye-dyeing outside. The kids then silk screened their silhouettes onto the t-shirts. I always love to watch kids screen print; they think it's the coolest thing ever. We talked about Louise Nevelson and they created personal relied sculptures from objects that they brought from home. Other projects included Chuck Close inspired self portraits, casting body parts in plaster and a lesson in surrealism that resulted in some hysterical paintings.

Next week is the last session of camp, and I'm a little sad to see all of this wonderful mayhem come to an end. Nonetheless I am so loving on this weekend. I'm looking forward to designing some jewelry pieces, creating some album art for a friend and hopefully a little meditation.

Happy weekend!
