I came across these dried flowers a few weeks ago and I've been waiting for the perfect project to use them on.

ninety-nine wishes

The act of wishing is something that is simple and beautiful in the cold empirical world that we live in. Children find hope and joy in what an adult would consider a weed. They make investments that many of us now would consider silly, pointless and worthless. The dandelion itself perpetuates a life cycle and there is constant death and rebirth, similarly to our growth and transition from childhood to adulthood. The ephemeral nature of ninety-nine wishes emphasizes these qualities of degradation, rebirth and capturing a private moment that comes from inside of us, rooted in nothing more than hope and our most tender of thoughts.
