New Press Part 2!

So crazy things are happening in my life right now. My mom's cousin was at a flea market in Bloomington, IL and stumbled across this sweet little monster. He said it was hanging out with some orange crates like it wasn't the biggest deal ever. It's a Golding & Company Pearl Press. The patents on the front of it read November 2, 1882, December 20, 1879 and December 2, 1873. It needs new rollers, a chase, and probably Illinois's entire supply of rust remover, but I am so ready for the challenge.

UPDATE: So this actually isn't a tabletop press at all! In my quest to find out exactly what make and model it was I discovered that this actually used to sit on a piece of furniture and was treadle powered. Now comes the search to find the missing pieces!

You are correct about the Pearl. Yours was designed to be treadle driven and sitting on a base. Your press however has had its flywheel replaced with a smaller one so it could be used as a tabletop. Originally, the very first ones were also tabletops and had side handles to pull. So, you could just restore this press and use it as a very unusual tabletop with a flywheel to turn instead of a handle to pull.
