strawberry ginger ale

So, as May is the month of strawberries, a couple of days ago I set out to make strawberry ginger ale: the perfect summer drink. I combined a ginger syrup I made on the stove top (ginger, sugar, a little water) with lemon juice, yeast and more water. The fermentation took about two days of the brew sitting at room temperature. Yeast never ceases to amaze me. Today I through some strawberries and a little more sugar  along with the homemade ginger ale into the blender to finish the mix up. This will definitely be something I make again. The drink is really refreshing and very gingery without the over powering carbonation that comes along with most sodas. Mmmmm...summer.
